About Buhanga

Our Story

Buhanga coffee cooperative was founded in 2009 as part of the Coffee Initiative Program run by Technoserve across East Africa, and it currently accounts 387 members of which 127 are women and 260 men. As a cooperative, we own a coffee plantation of about 2.12 Ha with more than 5,300 coffee trees from the three sectors the cooperative is operating in. We strive to discover potential markets for our coffee thus improving the standards of living of our members, community, and the country at large.
